Jeanne Responds to Comments

Nancy,

I would like to ignore your questions, but I won't. I haven't been going to the gym since I got sick. I will try to start again the day after tomorrow. Tomorrow is a port day in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, and we will go on a rainforest hike and have a beach day.

I have also been bombing in the casino. Good thing I had so much built up with my Big M winnings! (Still on the plus side due to that.)

Sandra,

Dinner companions are a bust. They are too old. We were sorry to see when we boarded in Port Douglas that the people on this segment are older than the rest have been. We also switched to early dinner which is at 6. That is too early and 8:30 is too late as we were usually not done eating until 10:30 or so. We have 1 old Australian man that can't hear and 3 old Australian ladies. One of them is very energetic.

I went up to the pool yesterday and most people were just bobbing around talking, but one old bird was swimming. She popped up in her white swim cap and said, “Can't you people swim? Why are you all just lolling about?” One woman looked at me and said, “It's my vacation. I can loll!” When we got to dinner I realized it was Diana, our table companion!

Anyway, Jeff and I have decided not to go to dinner in the dining room for awhile. Dinner has become less of an event anyway. Yesterday was our half way mark of 52 days. We will either eat in the Lido when we want to, pay to eat in Todd English or maybe just go to Tea and have a snack later. We are getting to the point where we will have lots of ports, so will want to be more flexible with our eating anyway.

We did meet a couple that are about our age, Chris and John. They did Southampton to Sydney on the QE2 and then switched over to the QV to go back to Southampton. They are Brits living in the UK now, but lived 30 years in Indianapolis so they have potential. We just have to find them again. They hang out it the Chart Room bar before first seating, so we will look for them there.

Bob and Cathy (Brisbane) are on late seating, so we still have to make things work with them. We do have plans to go to Todd English with them after Kota Kinabalu.

David and Paula from Naples are on late seating too, but they want to plan something with us for a dinner, so we will work on that.

Amanda,

Hope you like the food pics I am posting now. I will try to take more, but it will be hard now that we are skipping dinner! (I'll have to see that one to believe it!)

We will see Liz and Tim in Hong Kong and Bangkok, so we will have lots of pics of food there! (You know how that skinny Looper loves to eat!)

Thanks for keeping in touch! Jeanne
